IAPST Launches Thousand Therapists Project: Training 1,000 Sex Therapists Worldwide

ree

The International Association of Psychosexual Therapists (IAPST) is proud to announce the launch of the Thousand Therapists Project, an ambitious new initiative to expand access to qualified psychosexual therapy around the globe.

The project’s goal is clear: to train 1,000 therapists within the next year, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to provide ethical, evidence-based psychosexual therapy in their communities.

Participants in the program will complete 150 hours of structured education, fulfilling the educational requirements for certification as a Certified Psychosexual Therapist (C-PST) with IAPST. The training features live online classes, recorded sessions, and instruction from internationally respected researchers and clinicians.

At just $2,500 with flexible payment options, the Thousand Therapist Project represents one of the most affordable and accessible comprehensive training programs in the world.

“This initiative is about more than numbers—it’s about raising the standard of sex therapy globally,” said Dr. Caleb Jacobson, President of IAPST. “By training 1,000 therapists, we are not only supporting clinicians but ensuring that countless individuals, couples, and families worldwide will have access to the highest level of care.”

Graduates of the program will have the opportunity to celebrate their achievement at the IAPST graduation ceremony in Budapest in May 2026, held in conjunction with the International Symposium on Sex Therapy.

The Thousand Therapist Project is part of IAPST’s larger mission: to elevate the profession of psychosexual therapy through ethics, professionalism, and global collaboration.
