Becoming a Fellow

Fellow Status is conferred through a selective nomination process.

Qualifications for Fellow Status

Fellow Status is conferred upon members who meet rigorous professional and academic criteria that reflect both experience and contribution.

To be considered for Fellow Status, candidates must:

Hold a doctoral degree in a clinical field related to mental or behavioral health from an accredited institution
Be recognized as a Certified Psychosexual Therapist™
Have maintained active involvement with the Association for a minimum of one year
Demonstrate consistent and meaningful engagement in advancing the field of psychosexual therapy
Possess at least five years of post doctoral professional experience
Provide evidence of exceptional contributions, leadership, or performance within the field

Nomination and Recognition

Fellow Status is granted through a selective nomination process and is not open to direct application. Certified Members of the Association may nominate candidates whose work and professional standing reflect the distinction required for this honor.

All nominations are first reviewed by the body of Fellows, who evaluate whether the candidate meets the standard of excellence expected for this designation. Candidates approved at this level are then advanced to the Executive Committee for final consideration.

New Fellows are formally recognized at the Association's Annual Conference, where their contributions to the field are acknowledged before the international psychosexual therapy community.
