For Supervisors
What is a Registered Supervisor
IAPST does not approve, certify, or credential supervisors. Titles such as “IAPST Approved Supervisor,” “Approved IAPST Supervisor,” or “Supervisor Approved by IAPST” are not recognized and must not be used.
Individuals providing supervision to candidates pursuing IAPST certification must be registered annually with IAPST. Those who maintain this registration may identify themselves as a Registered Supervisor (RegSup). This designation indicates registration only and should not be represented as an additional certification, credential, or endorsement by IAPST.
To obtain and maintain registration, a supervisor must meet all applicable IAPST requirements, including:
- Maintaining the required level of IAPST membership and paying all applicable annual fees.
- Supervising the required number of eligible certification candidates.
- Using the IAPST-approved supervision contract.
- Maintaining the IAPST-approved supervision tracking log.
- Complying with all current IAPST supervision standards and policies.
It is the responsibility of each Registered Supervisor to identify and accept eligible candidates for supervision. Registration may be revoked if a supervisor fails to meet IAPST requirements or comply with its supervision policies. Beginning with the supervisor's second year of registration, a Registered Supervisor who has not provided supervision to any eligible certification candidates will not be permitted to register for the following year.
