Thousand Therapists Project Announces 100 Full Tuition Scholarships for 2027
November 4, 2026

The International Association of Psychosexual Therapists (IAPST) is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for clinicians interested in training as sex therapists or working toward IAPST certification. Through the Thousand Therapists Project, 100 full tuition scholarships are available for the School of Sex Therapy’s 2027 live cohort, beginning January 5, 2027.
The program fulfills the education requirements for IAPST certification and offers scholarship recipients the opportunity to learn directly from internationally respected clinicians and educators, tuition-free.
Learn directly from leading experts
The program brings together faculty from around the world, giving participants the opportunity to explore clinical approaches, ask questions, and engage in meaningful discussion with specialists in the field.
Among the instructors are:
Dr. Paula Hall, author of Understanding and Treating Sex and Pornography Addiction, teaching about working with sexual compulsions, addictions, and out-of-control sexual behavior.
Linda Weiner, co-author of Sensate Focus in Sex Therapy: The Illustrated Manual, teaching Sensate Focus.
Dr. Dan Watter, past president of the Society for Sex Therapy and Research (SSTAR) and author of The Existential Importance of the Penis: A Guide to Understanding Male Sexuality.
Dr. Laurie Betito, author of The Sex Bible for People Over 50, teaching about sexuality and aging.
These are just a few of the clinicians contributing their expertise to the program.
Comprehensive training for serious clinical practice
This is not a weekend workshop or a collection of short, prerecorded videos. It is a rigorous, systematic, comprehensive training program for clinicians who are serious about practicing sex therapy and prepared to commit to in-depth learning.
Live online instruction allows participants to move beyond watching presentations and engage directly with the people teaching them. They can bring questions, explore complex clinical issues, and deepen their understanding through discussion.
For those pursuing IAPST certification, the program satisfies the educational component of the pathway. Candidates must also complete the applicable examination, clinical experience, and supervision requirements.
Apply for the 2027 cohort
The Thousand Therapists Project seeks to expand access to professional training and strengthen the availability of qualified psychosexual care worldwide. These 100 scholarships offer an opportunity to pursue that training without the cost of tuition.
IAPST encourages members to share this announcement with colleagues and professional networks who could benefit.
