Who is this membership for?

  • Associate Membership is intended for professionals who are involved in the field of sexual health, sexuality, or human relationships but who do not practice as psychosexual therapists.
  • This membership category welcomes educators, researchers, physicians, gynecologists, urologists, pelvic floor specialists, nurses, allied health professionals, mental health practitioners whose work does not primarily focus on sex therapy, and others with a professional interest in advancing sexual health and psychosexual well-being.
  • Associate Membership provides an opportunity to engage with an international network of professionals, participate in educational opportunities, access member resources, and contribute to the ongoing development of the field.

What you will need to complete your application

  • Professional Documentation — Current Curriculum Vitae (CV) or résumé
  • Professional References — One letter of recommendation from an IAPST Member in good standing, or two letters from qualified professionals familiar with your professional work and conduct
  • Statement of Alignment and Interest — A brief statement (approximately 250–500 words) describing your professional background, interest in sexual health or psychosexual studies, why you wish to join IAPST, how your values align with IAPST, and how you hope to contribute to and benefit from membership
  • Professional Commitments — Confirmation that you have read and agree to abide by the IAPST Code of Ethics; confirmation that all information provided is accurate and complete
