Fellows Class of 2026

The International Association of Psychosexual Therapists is proud to announce the Fellows Class of 2026 and to recognize two distinguished professionals whose work has made a lasting contribution to the advancement of psychosexual therapy, education, and clinical practice.

This year, the association is honored to induct Dr. Shoshana Bulow as a Fellow of the IAPST. Dr. Bulow has built a remarkable career bridging couples therapy and sex therapy, both nationally and internationally. Her work has focused extensively on helping mental health professionals integrate sexual issues into couples therapy, while also contributing meaningful scholarship and public education surrounding non-traditional and non-nuclear families living within traditional communities.

In addition to her private practice, Dr. Bulow has taught and supervised at numerous respected institutions, including the William Alanson White Institute in New York City, the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, the Ackerman Institute for the Family, the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, the NYU Langone Program in Human Sexuality, and The Family Institute in Jerusalem. The association is also proud to induct Dr. Michael Sytsma as a Fellow of the IAPST. Dr. Sytsma has worked with couples in a variety of clinical and educational capacities since 1987 and has made important contributions as a clinician, researcher, author, and instructor. He has been highly involved as an instructor within the School of Sex Therapy and continues to contribute to the advancement of psychosexual therapy education internationally. Dr. Sytsma earned his PhD from the University of Georgia in Child and Family Development, where his dissertation focused on Sexual Desire Discrepancy in Married Couples. He teaches graduate courses at seminaries throughout the United States and serves through Building Intimate Marriages, Inc., where he provides marriage and sex therapy as well as professional training. He is also the co-founder of Sexual Wholeness, Inc.
